Why the hell are they still talking about Biden's debate performance? His actual job performance was significant and better than what's happening now. This is why I can't fully support the Bulwark. What's the point of this post?

I don't put any stock in MSM. I keep up with it but I get my info from various independent media sources. My heart goes out to those young trans members just trying to keep it together. Fighting for the right to exist is heavy. Which is why everyone must come together and do better. Be louder.

And that's why we need trans people to get louder! Yes, demand more support for allies. But the trans people themselves have to match it. And people like Jenner and McBride are stagnating the path towards progress. Just like Donalds, Scott, Owens, etc. do to the black community.

targeted. However, I don't see alot specific pro trans advocacy from trans people themselves. It feels like allies are being criticized for not saying enough about trans rights. But the trans community doesn't seem to be banning together to advocate like they should. We all must do better.

Absolutely, no one can win a war without allies. However, and I'm referencing the Civil Rights era of the 20th century, the black community never demanded more of an ally then they were willing to do themselves. Understanding the trans population is miniscule, I'd hope to see engagement from *cont*

Dems absolutely need to get better at countering messaging. And you see alot of the new vanguard doing that. We need to remove the old school vanguard who still wants to do 90s politics.

It will never seem like enough when you're fighting for equal rights. Trust me, no one knows this better than the black community. Things can and will be improved in terms of advocating. But the trans community must demand their own people to stand out just as much if not more than elected officials

But I find it even more troubling when members of the trans community with platforms are overtly or subtly encouraging silence with advocating for civil rights. That must be fixed first before placing expectations on others to do right by the trans community.

More could have been done. But of course in hindsight we always see what can be done better. I can't accuse all Dems of silence because everytime the phrase "freedom for all" is used, that includes trans people. Jasmine Crockett is very vocal about the ridiculous war on trans individuals.

I'm sure had there been more time to fully assess and plan, trans individuals would have been more prominently feature. The main focus during the campaign was Women's rights. Kamala spoke about everyone's freedom. She wasn't silent about that point.

McBride is certainly giving Caitlyn Jenner energy. I agree with you 100%. It's all about everyone having the same rights and freedoms. There's no straddling the fence on that. People are either in support or not. Hiding that support to win elections is just disgraceful.

I think we all did. We hoped that, in this country, after all the battles for freedom would be respected. Yet, here we are. Seemingly fighting the same battles for freedom and equal rights again. Extremely frustrating. But the late great John Lewis is right. We can never rest on our laurels.

I haven't listened to the interview. But I'm confused by what I've recently been reading about McBride. So what level or amount should Dems vocalize support for trans people? As a minority, a black man, you either show support or you don't. What's this "overplaying your hand" crap?

I'm in Salisbury, North Carolina. I am a registered Democrat. I see the failings. But also believe something is salvageable. Either to temporarily repair what was or to build something better. The latter is more preferable. I'm still learning and would like to see all options before moving.

I agree with 97% of what you post but I'm just not seeing this revolution effort from a new vanguard. Admittedly, I'm not all seeing. So I'm sincerely asking where is this happening so I can educate myself and engage.

WHERE?! That's what I'm asking. I'm involved at the local level where I live. Trying to network out and expand. I only see Democrats and Democrat voting independents. I'm asking and searching but don't see any mobilizing of third/fourth/ fifth options. Not any serious efforts.
