The Hoovers replaced the class 52’s on the WR, back in 76 ish,they were al lgood loco’s , and they struggled a bit on these Devon banks in the beginning,but I never thought of them as WR loco’s.” Cheers, kev

There was no Rym or reason when they came to renumber the Peaks,if I remember! I think whichever member of the class went for overhaul they renumbered em !

"I'm the same age as these 47's, so I'll be put in store soon! great diesel electrics, they saw off all the diesel hydraulics,and most of the other classes of their era.I know there was over 300 of them, but its a testament to how good they were to see them on every day duties today! 🙂cheers." Kev
