But in this case even folks with valid visa approvals need to get it stamped in their home country. Imagine planning your trip back to your home country since you have an embassy appointment for a specific date, only for that appointment to get cancelled.

Not expecting you to understand but a lot of people have uprooted their lives and made America their home. Kids schools, social networks, homes, cars the list goes on. Imagine having all of that locked out suddenly just cause you decide to visit your home country to see an ailing parent.

It’s extremely disheartening. I try convincing myself that most of it is just a really vocal online minority. But nowadays I wonder if I may have underestimated how many people actually hold such views.
