Yes he’s lying of course. But the media (this goes for all media) has normalized lies, laughs at them, and rarely follows up with live fact-checking. The media has a lot of culpability, and the consequence will be the end of democracy and stability.

If they “didn’t see it”, then they are willfully ignoring the biggest story of that particular day. It’s not every day that all the generals in the world are called into the Pentagon and the president speaks to them. So them ignoring it (if that’s true) is worse than their excusing it. Incompetence.

I don’t know if it’s a bribe. More like extortion that was paid. Either way, an arrow in the heart of the 1st Amendment, freedom of the Press, and a free media.
