Much as I support what bluesky are trying to do, it's crickets here. Not really an efficient use of time. I am going to stew on this for a few days, but I'd be interested to know if anyone is actually reading this. Please leave an emoji if you have even seen this post.

It's time for a full investigation into the crazily inconsistent use of cards by Michael Oliver. He either has a pathological hatred of Arsenal, is being paid handsomely to handicap their chances or is being blackmailed. Darren England on VAR is no better.

It took time to seal the win, but Zagreb's lack of ambition last night made Arsenal's securing of a top 8 group finish straightforward enough.

Job done
4 Champions League home wins
4 clean sheets.

Keep that up in the knockout rounds and who knows?

Credit to Arsenal for the energy they put into the draw with Villa. Arteta only used 1 sub, for less than 10 minutes, as the injury list now including Saliba, limited options. Excitement & chances, but ultimately disappointment. The title race is over.

A vital North London derby win closed the gap on Liverpool to 4 points. Aside from the lapse for the Spurs goal, Arsenal’s defence were the stars of the night, especially Gabriel and Myles Lewis-Skelly. Kieran Tierney made a cameo appearance – maybe for the last time?

Another season, another 3rd Round FA Cup exit. As it was on Tuesday, plenty of chances, but only one converted. Jesus stretchered off. It’s obvious what’s lacking, but will the cash be splashed on a lethal finisher before Arsenal’s season collapses?

Arsenal created enough opportunities to beat Newcastle in the League Cup semi 1st leg but were unable to administer the finishing touch. The next 3 games (Man Utd, Spurs, Villa) could define the Gunners' season on the domestic front. Feeling confident?

The margin for error in the pursuit of Liverpool was too thin for anything but a win away at Brighton. Unlucky Arsenal now need to win every game & for Liverpool to drop 11 points. All eyes on Europe then? Feels a more likely route to glory this morning.

Arsenal recovered from an early setback to beat Brentford with some excellent performances from Partey, Nwaneri, Jesus & Merino. The goals involved intercepted clearances, rebounds, deflections & numbers in the box. Takeaway for Arteta – Creating chaos has its benefits.

With Arsenal’s attack weakened and struggling against low block opposition, the Champions League may prove a more likely route to silverware. If they finish in the top eight in Europe, they would play seven further matches to win the trophy substack.com/inbox/post/1...

Only Kai Havertz managed to score on an evening of unexpected tension as the fear of an Ipswich leveller didn’t manifest. Arteta’s team did create more good chances, but they weren’t going in. Defensively though, a vital clean sheet. 3 points, move on.

Jesus continued his return to form, playing a part in all 5 Arsenal goals v Palace. Let's hope Saka’s absence is a short one, although Martinelli proved an able deputy on the right flank in an excellent attacking team performance to ruin the Eagles’ Xmas.

Gabriel Jesus had scored once since January, against Preston. Last night he reminded us of his potential to win matches with a hat-trick against Crystal Palace to progress Arsenal to the last four. The Gunners need this to be the shape of things to come.

It was all looking so good when Martin Odegaard returned from injury. Now Arsenal have hit the buffers again, in the Premier League at least. The mood after the goalless draw against Everton was one of pessimism. Vacancy: Clinical Finisher - Apply within.

Mikel Arteta took two risks in his team v Monaco. Lewis-Skelly paid off. Jesus didn't, aside from creating the opening goal. Will he ever score again for Arsenal? A 3-0 win was ultimately comfortable, but the game wasn’t safe until the final 15 minutes.

After scoring for fun since the international break, it was a tough watch seeing Arsenal struggle to find a way past Fulham. As for the yo-yo nature of the VAR offside decisions, I’d scrap the whole thing. Feels like you can’t celebrate a goal anymore.

The holy trinity of Odegaard, Saka and Timber continued to wreak havoc at the London Stadium yesterday with West Ham given a footballing masterclass as the Gunners get their season back on track, scoring five for the second game in a row.

Turns out the solution to Arsenal’s lack of goals was not the need for a more orthodox striker, but the fitness of Martin Odegaard. Exceptional again last night, he and Saka combined to give Sporting a footballing masterclass in Lisbon.

The combination of Arsenal’s two most creative players made for a comfortable, albeit rain-lashed win against Forest. With a run of less challenging fixtures ahead, the opportunity is there to recover from the points dropped when the captain was injured.
