I don't suppose that in all the 9 realms of MAGA that there's any such thing as a rubber duck?

Got some sizeable hail here in north Grand Rapids this afternoon! The biggest chunks are about 9/16" in diameter.

Busy start to the week at #GRR airport....Fire alarm emptied the entire terminal building until 5:05am, resulting in a line for security like I've never seen before, backed up all the way to and even beyond the doors!

Set your calendars for Food Truck Fridays at Riverside Park! It was magnificent tonight.
We enjoyed the community atmosphere and live music from www.harrydeandustyboys.com while we ate delicious sliders, fries, and paella.

Jealous of that cadence! It takes conscious effort for me to keep mine above 165, even during short, high-effort intervals, and 190 is simply unimaginable for now. But I'm working on it! #runsky

Oh wow, those are edible? I have a ton of those growing on box elder trees by me! Will need to do more research...

Crushed my race in the 2025 Grand Rapids Riverbank Run! I was faster than anticipated just patiently holding threshold heart rate. I started to wear out at ~11 miles, gradually pushed harder, but didn't crash and burn - I finished with exactly nothing left. #riverbankrun #grandrapids #rungr

Full rack of bikes on #NationalBikeToSchoolDay. There's some hope, the kids get it and they love it!

That is a super-nice mushroom. We found some morels this morning too!
*Point!*
We're still working on teaching the dog to sniff out morels like a truffle pig, she's clueless so far. But it's a great excuse to take the dog for a walk in the woods!

Got it done! 12x400m at 79s on the track, with intervals 4, 8, and 12 fast. Felt tough but I pushed through, because it's one of my last quality workout opportunities before a light taper for the big race on May 10.

Opening night at Trailside Treats Ice Cream of Belmont! Felt like summer.

Here in Michigan, our state wildflower the Dwarf Lake Iris has started blooming in my yard! We had a couple come early three weeks ago during a warm spell, but the majority are appearing now.
Huge thunderstorm tonight, let's hope March showers can bring April flowers.

Crushed 12x400m in speed work on the track tonight! Alternated 3 a little over 5k pace and 1 near "all out". Felt faster than I've been in years, bodes well for summer race season!

25k long run training for 25k #riverbank run in 7 weeks! 15.7 miles in 2 hours, 19 minutes (8:49/mile).
Gotta bring that easy run pace down by just over a minute per mile if I want to break 2 hours...yikes! But felt strong for my longest run ever.
Half marathon split 1:55, finished fast.

Is a "honey stinger" any better on a run than a good old Daelman's Stroopwafel? Trying to figure out my nutrition plan before the Riverbank 25k in May. Regardless of flavor, eating gels just feels like they're not real food meant for human consumption. But mini stroopwafels? Get in my belly!

Morning workout: Locked in.
Your list: locked in
Home in the evening, belly full of dinner, time to catch up on chores and do that project: I'm so exhausted

Celebrating with a Shamrock shake in the sunshine. 🌞😎🚲 Happy St. Patty's day indeed!
The McD's drive through was backed up halfway around the building, but I arrived by bike on our beautiful White Pine Trail and was the only one inside at the counter and the only one outside on the patio.

I got up for it, it was lovely. But I slept through my morning workout. Here, have a before and after photo - I'm sure others with better astrophotography setups have more impressive images, but these are mine :)

Check out the color change! Conditions were perfect. Note this is "upside down" due to telescope optics.

Everything's in working order, moon's still there! I'd need a better photography setup than holding my phone to the eyepiece if the pictures were important, but it looks stellar (lunar?) in person and those memories are what counts for me.

Getting everything set up for lunar eclipse viewing! Should be great viewing with few clouds. Totality begins 2:26am and ends 3:31 here in Grand Rapids, MI.

Actually sitting at the table and getting the first word down sometimes takes at least as much effort as writing the rest of the chapter.
But good lord, you're getting lens flare from the brightness of the white screen. Take it from a programmer: try dark mode, it's so much easier on the eyes!

Bushy baby to silvered senior! We didn't get Luna until she was 1.5, but the little man in the latter photo didn't even exist when the former was taken...

The good news is it's stopped (or at least paused) the falling-off-a-cliff trend and has stabilized in the past week near -2.4%. The bad news is that it's stabilized near -2.4%.
