Greg, this might be the most wrong anyone has ever been about anything, y'know.

Feels like unless a player can screen, tackle, carry, pass, create, score and bench press a small truck, he's not good enough. We can't chase unicorns all summer. Recruit to fill the gaps in our squad, stockpile elite-potential talent, and build the midfield plan around it.

European clubs can't even technically buy players yet so I'm not sure what we're really expecting.
June 23, 2025 at 8:41 PM
I need to stay off the other place. Transfer season has pulled me back in.
June 19, 2025 at 7:44 PM
I really don't like this one.
June 19, 2025 at 7:40 PM
Think we'll get it done before Frank is hired, let alone them having time to put in their own bid.

Think having Berrada and Vivell on board has been significant, as well as Wilcox's younger players knowledge. Quietly confident in the footballing structure, at this stage at least.
June 7, 2025 at 12:20 AM
Yeah agreed, though I do think departures will speed up when European clubs window opens in July. Good that we're not waiting til sales to bring in players so far.
June 6, 2025 at 10:58 PM
Good players! Seems unlikely we'd get them all for £125mil though!

Ben Jacobs, Nico Schira. But for now it does seem to be more "Amorim likes him" and "Gyokeres is open to United" rather than anything concrete. The main thing seems to be we'll focus on a striker next, which sort of goes without saying.
June 6, 2025 at 9:29 PM
Don't disagree. Think it'll pick up once the European clubs are allowed to make purchases from July. Think we'll get fees for Antony & Garnacho - may have to swallow some more loans plus obligations for Sancho, Rashford.
June 6, 2025 at 9:26 PM
Nah you're probably right. Think I'm just change-averse!
June 6, 2025 at 9:24 PM
I'm quite torn on it to be honest. I'd ideally like to just be on here, and it's definitely a more wholesome place, but it doesn't quite yet have the liveliness and frequency in the discourse the way the other place does. But admittedly that liveliness comes with massive downsides.
June 6, 2025 at 9:21 PM
For sure, Watkins entered my mind back when I thought Villa might bid for Rashford, not sure now. Though definitely open to a more short-term striker signing if the outstanding option isn't available this year. I think Onana suffers a bit from familiarity in some people's minds. Would love him.
June 6, 2025 at 9:19 PM
I'd love us to test Villa's financial position with a bid for Amadou Onana. Think he'd be perfect. I'm not opposed to Ederson either. Manu Kone seems like a great younger option too, but I've not watched him in depth, just taken a look recently.

Reckon so!

Really not a fan of Martinez personality, find him quite off putting! But I understand why people are saying him.
