“Fishing makes us less the hostages to the horrors of making a living. In some … sense it returns us to the aesthetics of the ancient art of gathering and hunting for food. It is a time warp we may step into for a little piece.” -- Jim Harrison
America was, once, a brave, grand experiment in representative democracy.

Now, today? Devolving into state-sanctioned oligarchy, the "worst among us" leading. 250 years, down the drain and for what? MONEY. No lofty principles, no grand social plan. Just more money for obscenely-wealthy greedheads.

The only way I can wrap my brain around these anti-science mouth-breathers it is to think they are all just so in love with power and money that watching people die slow, painful deaths is just the ”price we have to pay.” There is no word in my vocabulary to describe that level of evil.

The John Roberts SCOTUS sure wants to create a monarchy out of our democratic republic. If the executive branch can start wars, create laws, IGNORE laws, eliminate taxes... and then also IGNORE courts?

We no longer have any checks and balances, nor tripartite governing. Nor will we. Ever. Again.

"My good friend, you are a citizen of Athens, a city which is very great and very famous for its wisdom and power - are you not ashamed of caring so much for the making of money and for fame and prestige, when you neither think nor care about wisdom and truth and the improvement of your soul?"

U.S. District Judge Jia Cobb ruled Trump ordering National Guard into DC was illegal.

Trump ignored that ruling.

Six days later, two Guardsmen were shot. The next day Sarah Beckstrom died.

The timeline MATTERS. Trump continues to break the law, and people continue to die as a direct result.

By the second song of the Lions/Packers halftime All-Dad Rock show with Jack White and Eminem I looked down and was rocking New Balance shoes, my shirt was tucked into my denim high-rise jeans and my cell phone was in a holster.

Powerful stuff.

Fani Willis was removed for APPEARANCE of impropriety.

Meanwhile Trump's Organized Crime Syndicate's dismantling of US economy and the democratic republic itself rolls on like an ugly, obscene freight train. Impropriety? Howzabout blatant CRIME?

Now that she's in the Trump Administration, she goes only by her first two initials. Life goals, I guess, huh?

After the most recent school shooting, NPR interviewed a child psychatrist and asked: What can parents tell their children returning to school?

Would have been a perfect opportunity:

"Never too soon to teach your kids to shun NRA members and help to keep NRA legislators out of office."

Y'know those quiz questions:

Would you betray every one of your countrymen, the Constitution you pledged to preserve, protect, and defend:

For a couple billion in "loans," campaign loot, cryptocurrency and various sleazy emoluments?

The FBI works for all US citizens; the data files, tapes, videos captured during their raid of Epstein's properties belong to ALL OF US.

We deserve to know names, dates, faces, everything.

We DEMAND it.

The death scowl of a fully-compromised, heartless wretch, her last shred of decency removed through elective soul surgery; we are doomed to the same life of mindless treachery.

I suggest ICE broaden their target areas, from Home Depot and 7/11, to where KNOWN criminals hang out:

Mar a Lago

Bohemian Grove

The Heritage Foundation

And the easiest place to find felons and other criminals:

Progressive tax built this country in the fifties and sixties, when the wealthiest were taxed at... wait for it...

Ninety-one percent. Jefferson understood the concept and what it could do to lessen poverty, hunger and homelessness.
