Honestly, even with knowing we have access to the wonderful archive and that he walks among us still, I shed a tear at that announcement, what a legacy Mr Bragg leaves.

That’s a relaxed sentinel if ever I saw one, keeping their human safe (my 18 year old British short hair is equally as vigilant!). Good health to you both.

I can still smell the after effects of this, years later - it seemed to coat everything. Or else my Dad was just catastrophically bad at carving and splattered the innards everywhere, well he was so bad at DIY that he was nicknamed Reg Prescott by us 4. I proudly carry the DIY baton now, diolch Dad!

It was levelled to make a pond?! Such vandalism and negligence. Am horrified that anyone could be so cavalier with regards to the destruction of their own history; what other historically important site or artefact has been destroyed there?

Perhaps have a look at Caerffili/Caerphilly, in Cymru/Wales* when Reform unexpectedly, according to the BBC, etc., etc, lost a Senedd by-election to Plaid Cymru.
*Wales = Anglo-Saxon word for foreigner, given to the Britons who were here before them!
