Best American political movies: How Washington life eerily resembles art | Opinion
America has a long and storied history of engaging politics through film, and some of the greatest are overtly about our larger political struggles.

For deportations, can a US president suspend the 'writ of habeas corpus'? | Opinion
The writ of habeas corpus is a safeguard against unlawful detention. It requires the government to justify, under the law, holding someone in custody.

Has Congress ever been forced to balance the federal budget? Maybe it should. | Opinion

Federal judges provide crucial check on executive, congressional power | Opinion
Why can one judge stop policy actions by Congress or the President? Federal judges have broad authority to interpret laws and the U.S. Constitution.

I know everyone wants to criticize @jaselzer. But, I won’t. A pollster can do everything right & have a bad result. Mathematically, it is inevitable. But, she & her team were professional enough to put out what they found, when others would not. That’s Integrity.
