I talk and sometimes shout while people play football. TV for Bundesliga world feed, radio for talkSPORT and UEFA, words and podcasts for Betfair. Have avoided doing a real job for 24 years.
De Bruyne one of the all-time greats in the Premier League. So consistent, has won so much and has been integral to #mcfc dominance. I still fondly remember his days in the #Bundesliga with Werder and Wolfsburg. He was phenomenal even then.

A lot of stuff about #AI on here today, with these Ghibli ripoffs everywhere. It’s kinda disgusting, an affront to the original animators and artists. AI models need to stop ripping off creatives, voiceovers, copywriters, actors. What’s the point of art if humans didn’t make it?

Obviously it’s a blow for #lfc to lose Trent Alexander-Arnold, but he’s off on a new adventure and he’s been a terrific servant to his hometown club. It should be a situation where he leaves with good wishes, and is welcomed back as a player who won everything at Anfield.

I’ve just said that Barca had their pass to the #UCL quarter-finals “Lamine-ated” on national radio, and I might now have to resign in shame.

A real low point for #bvb today. Looked devoid of ideas, and Augsburg kept them at bay fairly comfortably. Fans were on edge for most of the match, and if Dortmund play like that in Lille, they’ll get hammered. Augsburg’s first win in Dortmund for ten years.

A bit baffled by the timing of Feyenoord's decision to sack Brian Priske. Won at the weekend, and have their biggest game of the season coming up against Milan. I understand the reasons they have stated, but still seems odd.

Having worked on the conclusions of the #ucl and #uel league phases, I’ve had it reinforced in my mind that the format works. Lots of games on Matchday 8 that still have some form of jeopardy, and one goal can make a huge difference. I liked the old format too, but change is good

So, #lfc will play one of Monaco, Brest, PSG or Benfica in the last 16

#avfc face one of Sporting, Brugge, Atalanta or Dortmund

#avfc have Feyenoord, Juve, PSV or Milan

#mcfc in playoffs, face either Real Madrid or Bayern, then would face either Atleti or Leverkusen in last 16

Adeyemi’s situation at #bvb is fascinating. He wants to move to the Premier League rather than Napoli, which is why the Italians have gone back in for Garnacho. If Dortmund can sell Adeyemi, they can go for Kevin Schade, but can’t see them being able to afford it otherwise.

Rarely seen an interviewee as angry as Andrej Kramaric tonight. Seething about Hoffenheim’s season - says it’s been “shit” and that they could be relegated, although says they might be saved by poor quality of teams below them. Says he’s never suffered a season like this before.

I know #bvb are desperate for this Nuri Sahin thing to work, but they are in danger of missing out on Europe entirely, let alone the Champions League. Players have to take their share of blame too, but it feels like the coach is running out of road. Big decision to make soon.

Long may they continue to be worse than humans at this.
Remember that future when Captain Picard would ask the computer something and the computer would have all the answers? Yes, well we're not there yet. Well done to Hady Habib for showing up at the Australian Open, and after that we know nothing. If only people were watching. #AusOpen

If you want an example of how financial imbalance has seen the Premier League dominate European football, look at how Joao Felix and Christopher Nkunku are effectively flat-track bullies for #cfc, deployed against the chaff. They’d walk into most of the starting XIs in Europe.

Really enjoyed working in Dortmund last night with Steffen Freund and the DFL crew. Chaotic game, and the pre-match tributes to Teddy de Beer were some of the most heartfelt and emotional I can remember.

A great example yesterday of how you need to use the sight test to put xG and shots in context. Frankfurt 3.5xG Mainz 0.59. Frankfurt 30 shots Mainz 8. However, Mainz played with ten men for most of it, and fully deserved to win the game. Data is very useful, but needs context.

Bayern were absolutely outstanding last night. Caused Leipzig nightmares with their pressing and movement. Scored some superb goals, played with pace and energy. A goal difference of +34 after just 15 matchdays. One Kane pass was worth the admission fee alone.

Probably shouldn’t judge Ivan Juric on the Roma debacle, as he walked into a nightmare after they’d sacked a beloved son of Rome. More instructive is the good work he did against the odds at Hellas Verona, and a solid spell at Torino. Walking into another tough gig at #saintsfc

Hard to see how today could have gone any better for Amorim at #mufc. Made a statement by dropping Rashford and Garnacho, Amad justified his faith, the team won the Manchester derby and they look like they at least vaguely understand what he’s trying to do.

That ten seconds of Matheus Nunes summed up #mcfc at the moment. Mistake, panic, and then another mistake. A player being asked to play out of position, and a player short on confidence. KDB the worst I’ve ever seen him, and I think he’s one of the world’s best players

We’re six matchdays into the new #UCL format, and I’ve really enjoyed it. Some big shocks, great games, and for a lot of teams there is still jeopardy. Brest, Celtic and Club Brugge have exceeded expectations, while PSG, Leipzig and Man City have struggled. Some great goals too!

Fair play to #avfc, but three horrible goals for RB Leipzig to concede. Indicative of their lack of confidence. I feel for Rose, because the players are letting him down too often.

I think a lot of players would be happy with the kind of crisis Kylian Mbappé is having. #UCL

Horrible news for Niklas Sule at #bvb. Has reinjured his ankle, and will be out for months. So unlucky, and had worked so hard to get back fit.
