I find this helpful not only bc it diagnoses our present moment, but also bc it makes the right feel less inevitable. They’re not a force of nature—they just organized.

(Now, it’s easier to organize when you have capital behind you, but still)

Utterly desolate times. Saltwater siphoned down our throats and then we wonder why we're thirsty.

I already felt helpless against my own body, but then I also had to contend with this vast, malicious machine that already takes tens of thousands of dollars from my family each year.

So yeah, that'll mess with your head and create a lot of resentment toward the ghouls who run these systems.

Y'all, we went back and forth for 6 months! The whole time, itching, swelling, nerve pain like shingles, even on Allegra and Benadryl. This was me for 6 months while their AI or some vampire ex-doctor made up reasons why I didn't need medicine:

Their reason? They say I had to try antihistamines for 6 wks. Which I'd just done!

I appeal. Another 6 weeks later, BCBS says I also have to be tested for tuberculosis! Even my allergist hadn't seen that one before. TB has NOTHING to do with my condition.

I took a quadruple does of extra strength Allegra and multiple Benadryl every day for 6 weeks. It kept me from having any more anaphylactic reactions, but didn't touch the hives.

So after 6 weeks, my allergist put in for insurance approval...which Blue Cross Blue Shield denied.
