In class today: students present the IPCC figure (SPM.8) showing future projections of temperature, sea ice, and sea level. Going to ask them to fact-check: "The oceans will rise one-eighth of an inch over the next 400 years… which will give you slightly more beachfront property if it happens."

Every year I teach climate change, I learn something new. Told my APES students today about how the hottest 10 years in recorded history have been ALL OF THE LAST 10 YEARS. Not a single year in the past decade falls below the top 10. www.ncei.noaa.gov/access/monit...
