Yes, often demolished and replaced with something that turned out to be worse, as in Durham actually. Road public transport infrastructure doesn't get as much coverage as the vehicles, inevitably!

Yet most of the larger 'lead firms' in globalised supply chains are American and most have benefitted from shareholder value maximisation ideaology, so its pretty much just convenient scapegoating once again.
