Fantastic event by @liamconlon.bsky.social highlighting the importance of the campaign for a Philomena’s Law. The redress scheme after the horrors of Ireland’s Mother & Baby homes shouldn’t create financial hardship for the survivors. And thanks to my lovely Siobhan McS for backing it!

Distinct lack of challenge here to Mayor Rahman from @thetimes.com TH’s leisure centres were not being run by ‘private contractors’ - ‘Better’ is a charitable not-for-profit that pools resources across authorities. Bringing it in-house has increased costs & cut-off access for residents to centres.

As we approached LGBT+ Labour’s 50th anniversary, I’m not sure we expected to have such a venue to host a celebration! Thanks to the PM for popping up to cut the cake but also to our speakers for highlighting the progress Labour Government’s have made for LGBT+ rights, since we were founded in 1975.

The first ever St Patrick’s Day celebration at Number 10 and, apparently, the first time they’ve ever served Guinness. Appreciated the opportunity for a brief catch-up with the PM (slightly posher venue from the days when he would pop down to a Tower Hamlets fundraiser)…and to meet Larry The Cat. ☘️

So refreshing to be at a St Patrick’s Day event in Parliament this eve and genuinely feel optimism about Irish-Anglo relations…and, more widely, about Britain’s place in the world. Are we back? 🙌

Great night at number 10 to mark World’s Aids Day and to celebrate and recognise the fantastic work of THT, NAT & EJAF in reducing HIV transmission. An honour to be in the room & listen to the PM commit to ending all HIV transmission in the UK by the end of this Parliament. 🙌

Great to be out and about in Bethnal Green today with a big gang of activists. The recent inspection has shown huge governance failings at the council and residents deserve to know the truth!

Such sad news. On the few occasions I met her, she struck me as the most incredible, passionate advocate for social justice. A real power-house. A loss to the Labour movement.
