May is Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Thank you to Mayor Daniel Lurie for gathering over fifty AANHPI commissioners, department heads, and city officials in a show of unity and strength.

It is an honor to serve the people of San Francisco.

So proud to stand alongside 10,000 lawyers in 50 cities who marched in support of the rule of law and reaffirmed our oaths to protect and uphold our Constitution.

I look forward to working collaboratively with my fellow members of the Police Commission, Mayor Lurie, the Board of Supervisors, and most importantly the community to conduct a national search for a new SFPD Chief.

This year’s 49th AABA - Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area Gala, “Rainbow Road,” was a shining and inspiring celebration of those journeys and of the incredible strength of community and diversity and a clear call to action to the 750 remarkable indvividials gathered there.

All of us have walked long, winding, colorful roads to become the people we are today.

Power not panic. In difficult times we have to band together as a community to harness and exercise our power. Last week the Minority Bar Coalition of the SF Bay Area Presidents Summit brought together leaders of over 20 Bay Area bar associations to do just that.

The San Francisco legal community came together to celebrate the Korean American Bar Association of Northern California’s 40th Anniversary Gala!

It was an honor to gather with community in Chinatown in celebration of Paul Yep’s appointment as Chief of Public Safety to Mayor Daniel Lurie. I look forward to working together to keep our city safe and ensure transparency, accountability, and fairness in SFPD.

Tonight I attended the 30th anniversary of the death of Jim Guellf, killed in the line of duty by a heavily armed and armored suspect. After his death his brother Lee helped pass new laws to limit access to weapons and tools of war. His friends, and family have kept his memory and legacy alive.

Thank you to Debra Walker for the tour of the SF Dems HQ, and to the amazing staff and volunteers working around the clock until Election Day! Less than a week to go to win this thing and stand up and fight for what we believe in! #HarrisWalz

Last week I had the honor and privilege to attend the @sfpd.bsky.social Medal of Valor Ceremony. Congratulations to the officers who acted with courage, wisdom, and dedication and earned these awards.

October marks Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This week the San Francisco Domestic Violence Consortium hosted an event on the steps of City Hall as city leaders recommitted to ending the public health and public safety crises posed by domestic and intimate partner violence.

Thank you to State Controller Malia Cohen and SFPD Chief Bill Scott for inviting the First Responders Children Foundation to San Francisco. The FRCF provides scholarships, support, and community services to children of first responders, and I look forward to working with them.

Last night I had the honor to attend and celebrate the 48th annual lighting of the 25 foot Bill Graham Menorah for the first night of Hanukah. Happy Hanukah to all who celebrate!

Today I’m attending the #sfnext Solutions Conference convened by @sfchronicle.bsky.social to hear ten innovative policy pilot ideas for issues facing San Francisco. I look forward to a vibrant exchange of ideas and discussions on ways to improve and protect our incredible city.
