An irony of this is the "no censorship" crowd wants to repeal section 230.

The surest way for companies to clamp down on what others say (i.e., censor) would be to repeal section 230.

I'm guessing he's supporting donors.

He was a banker most of his working life and likely has many friends in the industry.

Yes, there would.

It does seem as if the lasting legacy of Trumpism is that the US is intentionally surrendering the position of global leadership it's held since the end of WW2.

And as is common as empires end, it's not clear what comes next.

Considering that Trump has stated he will seek "retribution" preemptive blanket pardons for likely targets doesn't seem odd to me.

The WW2 Japanese internment camps were created via EO #9066.

So, yes.

Especially since she led the effort to create the ad platform that generates their revenues and profits. Which is why he put so much energy into recruiting her away from Google.

What if Trump's people work to mitigate the effects? By being "selective" about which "across the board" tariffs are and are not strategically beneficial?

A weak currency makes exports cheaper for buyers in other currencies. So weak currencies should boost exports.

Minor nit. Point taken, but... at the peak, there were 55 in Windsor and a total of 70 in southern Ontario.

But even that idea misses the core issue. Contrary to the fear mongering, when you model money creation and destruction as a complex system, fiat money creation attenuates the business cycle, and credit money creation amplifies it.

Morbid thought, but you're right.

All that occurred to me as well.

The more I learn about the nature of and history of money, the more convinced I am that bank regulation and credit rating are FAR more important than the national debt, yet most people are obsessed with the later while being blissfully ignorant of the things that matter more.

I think they're different, as they're claims on pizzas, not claims on other identical vouchers.

I believe a Domino's pizza voucher is an asset to whoever holds it and a liability to Domino's.

It would be hilarious if Labrador successfully wooed them with cheap hydro. They could throw in "better natural cooling" as an added benefit.

You might be right, based on one detail. The shooter appears to have done his homework. He knew where and when to be, so his walk from "hiding" (between two parked cars) to "shooting" was only a few steps, or so I've read.

The bill also contained a chain store tax. Outlets with more than 9 locations literally paid more taxes. It was part of keeping smaller stores competitive.

When Democrats Tried To Destroy Chain Stores With Taxes
Democrats used to hate monopolies, and now they don't. That's the upshot of Matt Stoller's recent article in The Atlantic, “How Democrats Killed Their Populist Soul”. It's a compelling argument, if a ...
