I think on some level there is a realization that without all the preferential treatment and subsidy that we currently give cars, they're actually not a great way to get around for many cases. Something something equality feels like opression

Because it also sucks, unfortunately. When there's not cop cars parked in it, it still runs only one block before ending abruptly and forcing you onto the sidewalk.
