it is always such a hustle to create circles in pyxel art.
Sometimes they just either look too much like an octagon or too much like a square.

using text from games/anime as sample text for testing is kinda funny #indiedev #gamedev #godot

The sky itself vs the sky as reflection. #indiedev #gamedev #godot

I applied the color change during daytimes to the (still unfinished) portrait in the menu. #indiedev #gamedev #shader

doing diagonal rail tiles turned out to be a little complicated. I started out in a very complicated way and now I'm trying to fix them. #godot #indiedev

I just created the first prototype minecart puzzle for my jrpg.
All the graphics are incomplete or prototypes.
The blue rectangles are minecarts, the white ones are pressure plates and the switches are only for visualizing the railway switches.

idk why, but just now I added doors you can just walk through to my game. Before, all doors were teleports.

Does anyone love making objects interactive inside the editor as much as I do?

So, I had the Idea to add these NPCs that present fetch quests.
The quests will be like in Zelda where you need to give the witch a mushroom.
So, you'll need very specific items that exist only for that particular quest.
(the sphere guys ( ° ° ) are placeholders btw)

Today I created the first sprite from behind.
It was challenging even though I had a template to work from.

today I made an authentic looking mode7 view for my game.
I'm going to use it for special cutscenes.
What you are seeing are a sketch layout for the overworld map and bushes as placeholders.
This actually simulates the way it worked on the SNES!
Are you interested in the shader code?

ever seen algorithms perform differently just because of how they access memory? #programming

Haven't posted in a while. I'm currently working on demo prototype stuff. There are placeholders everywhere and it doesn't look pretty, but it doesn't have to in this stage of development.

I added a photobox which you can use to photograph objects. It also reveals hidden objects, like the tree in this screenshot. Note that the reflection of the tree can still be seen normally. #gamedev #indiedev

So I started creating this artwork and it will probably be used on the left side of the main menu because there is this huge gap anyways. #godot #pixelart

I just added proper graphics right after I posted about fishing. I should've done this first. #godot #pixelart

I started implementing the obligatory fishing minigame. I have no idea what exactly I want with this, so probably fish will just get catched automatically for testing until I have a proper concept.

Treasure maps show abstract landmarks and you have to find out where to dig by yourself. The interesting thing about this is that there is no system required, it works entirely by giving the player information. #indiedev #gamedev
