Irate insomniac asexual. Curious mind in an old and broken body.

a single huge ravioli.
The principal beneficiaries of a gas import terminal would be the gas fired milk powder plants, and Methanex, a Canadian methanol distiller/exporter 10 minutes drive from New Plymouth.
The vast bulk of their products go straight offshore and the profits go to the rich.
And they're taxing us to pay!

Must be difficult working for The Onion right now.
The shit's just writing itself. Every Day.

Is this still a real thing? We were using restraining straps 20 years ago. The idea is to hooka short heavy duty bungee from one door to the other so that you could open the door carefully and ascertain that the load wasn't about to hit you in the face...

Deliberate, calculated, and filmed attack on two unarmed communities. Probably chose NZ because we have no death penalty.
He knows that he's guilty as hell.
He just misses the attention.
Lock him in a windowless cell away from humans.
And forget he ever existed.

RNZ is one of the worst for propaganda.
February 9, 2026 at 10:17 AM
which of the twighlight industries is Luxon selling his own investment properties for? Who's getting the big share investment before the scale of benefit from the fossil fuel government becomes apparent?
February 9, 2026 at 10:13 AM
To boost gas-fired industry security while delaying green energy projects and hydro batteries indeffinitely.
These con artists need to be fired.

New Terminal in the city of New pymouth will be right next to the Methanol export facility that sends Canadian owned product, made from gas, overseas.
New Plymouth, the new Tiwai Point.

Amazing how it's supposedly going to "save $265 a year", but they can't take out a 5 year loan to build it.
No, they're going to TAX ELECTRICITY again.
And once this dirty, volatile highly explosive port facility is built IN A CITY
how much of the gas will go straight to Canadian exporter Methanex?

the smart guy from Air NZ moves up the corporate ladder, the dumb one poses for selfies and sells his country out.
February 9, 2026 at 9:59 AM
I guess the all-nazi alternative didn't draw the expected audience.
February 9, 2026 at 9:56 AM
"40" watts, the dimmest energy minister in decades.
February 9, 2026 at 9:53 AM
Is he selling up more of his portfolio?
February 9, 2026 at 9:52 AM
You can't hide from the taxes that they will put on electricity to pay for this time bomb. They've already added extra taxes to electricity for 'transmission projects', so that they can give more money to the rich.
February 9, 2026 at 8:46 AM
Of cource, building a massive gas transfer facility in the heart of New Plymouth makes perfect sense, we'll employ an overseas company like Veolia to operate it for us. If it went wrong, it would probably destroy much more of New Plymouth than the 2020 Beirut explosion, but Luxon doesn't care.
February 9, 2026 at 8:40 AM
The LNG facility is not just about security of electricity supply. Our gas is running out even faster than predicted.
There's a massive Canadian owned methanol plant that has run us dry of gas over decades, just up the road from the broposed billion dollar terminal, that will be paid for from taxes.
February 9, 2026 at 8:35 AM
Who gave him a licence to sit on consented green energy, scrap a project for a major hydro battery, and import an incredibly volatile [in every sense of the word] fossil fuel and build a dangerous transfer station for unloading it conveniently close to an overseas owned gas refining exporter?
February 9, 2026 at 8:26 AM
Hope it doesn't take long to tell him that he's still a murdering racist bastard and send him back to a windowless cell where he can be separated from humans for the rest of his life.
February 9, 2026 at 8:23 AM
Is it pure coincidence that a massive overseas owned petrochemical plant that has hastened the end of our domestic gas supply for pennies on the dollar is based in Taranaki?
February 9, 2026 at 7:08 AM
pot/kettle.
February 9, 2026 at 7:04 AM
They must know that there's no way that they can get the deal done before the next election. Is this just a smokescreen to cover some other dirty little project?
February 9, 2026 at 7:04 AM
Nobody in NZ wants more fossil fuel unless they're holding shares in power companies. This government is the biggest power company shareholder in NZ. Of course they'd rather prolong their dividends from existing dinosaur generation, then they can continue to rebate the rich rather tha tax them.
February 9, 2026 at 7:02 AM
Lesson learned .Veolia operates in a number of locations in NZ. Ask your mayor what safeguards and monitoring are in place before they destroy your backyard.
