I write code, feel good about myself and my skills, go online, see what others can do, feel like an idiot, get frustrated, learn, get better, repeat. FR|EN|JP
Man... you follow people online because you think they are so cool and skilled and that "they must never worry about their job, they are so good at it", only to realize they also get laid off... bummer. I hope you find something quickly!

They won't modify your code unless you take action. They are "just" smart (and getting smarter) autocomplete. Agents can interact with other systems without having to ask them to do so. Now, whether the people who answered the survey realized that and answered correctly, is another story. 2/2

Interesting POV. I agree, it's so fast moving that that survey won't be relevant 4 or 5 months from now. And you are also right, it's a very fine line between tool and agent. My 2 cents is that, as long as there is no autonomy, it's just a tool. Cursor, Copilot require human intervention, ... 1/2

I might be wrong, but didn't they want to make the distinction between your basic LLM chat (i.e Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) who simply answers questions and have no execution capabilities, as opposed to agents who do (querying an API, executing code, etc.)? In that case the distinction would be valid?

Me too, I think content "creatation" is important 🤭

All jokes aside, model collapse is a real issue. What happens when people stop creating, and there is no more original content to train LLMs? Because since AI is growing exponentially, the day this happens is not necessarily very far away.

But @hankgreen.bsky.social can we agree that with egos as big as these two, it is highly likely that there will be a public battle between the two at some point? Smart is the person who can tell how it will end, but I do think that there will be some bad blood between the two at some point.

"we’re not yet where we want to be in terms of security". Yet they believe it's OK to put their product on the market? That's interesting. It feels like the lack of accountability in the industry strikes again. The saddest part is, most likely employees will pay the price for this, not the CEO.

And there I was, proud that I was not using JS for sub-menus anymore (thank you peer in Tailwinds)... Never mind me, going back to studying! 🫠

I believe that, since Japan depends heavily on exporting cars, etc. to the US, since the Yen got very weak last year, the threat of tariffs made the market uneasy, and now that it is very real, the market is panicking, therefore losing value at speed "the likes of which you've never seen before" 👈👉

Recently, in Stranded Deep, I had to: save game > build item to get achievement > reload the game to previous save because building that thing to get the achievement makes another achievement unachievable... I felt all dirty after that... ugh

In retrospective, we still have no idea at all, because we are only watching an infinitesimal portion of the universe to be able to catch all possible threats, and I believe it was sheer luck that we were able to catch that one.

I can't remember for sure, but I do think I discovered the metro through a mission. Or at least something popped up when the game was updated to explain there was now a metro!

Cyberpunk 2077 has a metro system... That I am pretty sure players seldom use... but still!

Meanwhile, I am in Japan, there is also a bird flu outbreak, and eggs are sold in packs of 10 for roughly ¥300 (so $1.90)
