Hi there, I’m Martyna—a game tester/portraitist dabbling in tattooing after hours. Call me kets.

Been working on a portfolio piece lately, my first sculpt of a person from scratch—second ever.
I had so much fun making the hair, though I yet have to add lashes. XGen is wonderful to work with, but makes Maya crash so often. 😭

I know getting a job (in gamedev, but not only) is extremely difficult nowadays, but don’t forget you deserve to work in a place where you’ll be respected and appreciated.

There are some very exciting things ahead of me if everything goes right. There would be a difficult decision to make, but so thrilling.

there are times when weeks on end I’d be seeing nothing but normal-ish stuff on the internet and I say to myself “the internet isn’t that weird after all is it” and then I see the absolute most batshit crazy thing and then I know everything is still in its place in the universe

supervisors be like: QA is just an entry level position to gamedev, it’s a red flag if you don’t want to change it after a few years.
but at the same time like: we won’t allow you to change your position, you want to do something different? You’re good at something? Tough luck, we’ll never use it.

I’ve got so many thoughts on the recruitment process now that I’m taking part in it from the employer’s side that I think I can share some tips.
- First of all: if you apply for a job in the EU, don’t forget about the GDPR clause (so many EXPERIENCED people forget to include it)
