for VNs that are actually "relevant" (big budget ones) i'm sure the percentage of adult ones is tiny nowadays since they're all targetting Switch releases

Rayman 2 is still like one of my favourite games of literally all time and if I was smart enough to make a game god it would be something with the exact same design philosophies as that game

i'm guessing with a lot of them the subject matter just makes it difficult to get a video on youtube and like, keep it monetized

well, it is, but they're selling a borderline scam Hitman 1 only version of it (which goes for 90% sales, the main game goes down by like 60% which is still decent) and if you had Hitman 1 and 2 you have no choice but to buy them again if you want 3

yeah every major patch causes the game to recompile and with a live service game like this it just means shader comp comes back every 3 weeks
even worse it DOES have a long-ish pre-compilation step which used to be completely unmarked (it says "preparing shaders" now) and does not catch most shaders
