I imagine their relationship like that of a well-intentioned and loving cat owner who is very overbearing and doesn't understand/care about their cat's boundaries so they keep breaking them and a cat that will scratch and bite but then also feel bad and come cuddle afterwards

Ivan gets into fights mostly when people say mean things about Till, and he likes that Till is nice to him but he does hate feeling trapped/caged and goes into meltdown at a much faster rate than regular Ivan.. unfortunately Till doesn't know all this so he tries to help and makes it worse
