The odd glimpse of sunshine on Thursley Common today. I fear that it will be raining until 2026 #EnglishWeather #DartfordWarbler & usual suspects #SurreyBirding

A real treat this book. A story of stories that weave together & flow in to the River Tigris.
The Epic of Gilgamesh being at the core of this story.

So much is written about the Epic and its relationship with the Hebrew Bible, most notably the Garden of Eden and Noah & the Arc. Fascinating stuff 👍

Saw my first swallow fly overhead, as I took the pooch for a rumble across the Surrey meadow. Great wildflowers on the margins #bluebells @plantlifeuk.bsky.social

Lovely walk with the pooch around @rspb.bsky.social Farnham Heath. Heard a woodcock that must have been disturbed by all those stonechats & chiffchaffs 🐧

Pooch spotted a woodlark singing away at sunset yesterday.
It was singing away on top of a birch sapling on Surrey Lowland Heath. Tonight’s treat was a rumble around the meadow listening to Meadow Pipits & Song Thrush #CleverPooch
