Upon learning about the RV, Kennedy contacted Kemper and invited him to his house to see the bus. A few months later, the campaign hired Kemper to work on volunteer and voter engagement. His duties included driving the RV around the country as it blasted songs from the 1960 campaign of Kennedy’s uncle—John F. Kennedy—including a jingle by Frank Sinatra. “We are in startup mode,” said Kemper, who is no longer on payroll but still supports Kennedy. “There’s going to be failures, there’s going to be f—ups, there’s going to be some drama, that always happens.”

Murphy assured this reporter that simply making an inquiry to the CRA’s individual helpline wouldn’t flag the account for any special attention from the tax authority — something many people worry about. Likewise, both Dawson and Epp confirmed that they advise their clients to contact the CRA or reach out on their behalf if necessary.
