My experience is that when I write something super complicated, I 100% understand it when I put it up for review

I then very quickly forget. That's why simple, succinct code is the best. There's plenty of shit I've written that I can barely explain because I had to make it complex and just forgot

mines generally pretty stable, but i also nuked every trace of copilot from it that i could find and am vigilant after every update for it returning

i think i first discovered you from a spill review for a film you absolutely *loathed*. the takedown was pretty brutal

i was also an edgy early 20something at the time, so that was my jam. now a days not so much

same reason i love rogue one so much, the last 45 minutes is so goddamn perfect that even if the stuff before is a bit uneven i just can't bring myself to care that much

call it cringe, but man seeing infinity war and endgame in theaters was a great experience and those films would have been no where near as fun watching them at home

yeah i'm a java dev and i'd never prompt write me a class to do xyz. that's not really how I think about things and i'd spend more time fixing the garbage output than i'd spend just writing the whole thing myself

it's not bad at generating single lines or tests if i've already written a few
December 3, 2025 at 9:14 PM
it comes down to how you use it IMO

i use it to generate single lines based on surrounding context. it's sorta ok at it

it's also not bad at generating tests after i've already written a few

i'd never use it to write a whole file, i'd spend so much time fixing it that i'd rather just do it myself

they can be useful in software engineering, with guardrails

i've seen these things generate some utterly useless code, but it can speed me up for simple tasks
