What about Mei Mei from Kung Fu Panda? Mei Mei has received almost no love in the form of fanart for some reason. And it's a huge missed opportunity because she does check alot of fetish boxes. She's fat, she has a huge appetite in canon, she's insanely confident and flirty, definitely a show off.

This is not something that can be reduced to some anime fad.
That said, I do not deny that some people have tried to cash in on this since it is an issue with any popular genre.
