Thanks! The animation was cool and I liked the idea. The fact that all the dogs except Scarlett Johansson dog were boys, along with the fact that they wouldn’t let her fight, was stupid. 50% of dogs are girls! Girl dogs are just as good at fighting as boy dogs! But she was only a love interest. 😒

I know some people liked it, it was just so deeply sexist.

I haven’t hated many movies the way I hated Isle of Dogs. It sucked so bad.

There was also a period in the Great Recession when nyc landlords were leaving commercial space empty so they didn’t have to lower rents long term. Some of the space was lent out to arts orgs, but they didn’t have tenants’ rights.

This happened because Duane Reade opened too many stores in nyc, I think. They unionized in 2006 (via google), so that didn’t set it off. But I see how blocking unionization could be a cause in some cases
