We find, NO, women with disabilities have similar odds of both aspects of informed choice. And the reasons for systematic differences in female sterilization remain a mystery.

So we ask, do women with disabilities have lower odds of receiving the full Method Information Index (MII--a measure of quality contraceptive counseling) or participating in contraceptive decision-making?

This analysis came about because of alarming findings that, while women with disabilities in 9 countries had the same odds of contraceptive use as women without disabilities, they had *HIGHER* odds of using female sterilization as their method.

Contraceptive decision-making is associated with lower odds of anxiety and depression in Mozambique, where such decision-making is both independently associated with better mental health and amplifies the effect of contraceptive use on mental health.
