Wasn't it terrorism? Oxford dictionary describes terrorism as "the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims". Doesn't that sound about right?

The one thing we should all have a say over is our life. If she has been deemed to be emotionally and mentally fit to make this sort of decision and is wracked by pain - why should she have to resort to methods that are painful, emotionally stressful and cause horror for her family and friends?
