#PEI potato soup for lunch.

"The office of the commissioner is under-resourced. Government knows it and uses it to its advantage," Paul MacNeill told CBC News via email.

He said access requests which used to take months now take years.

"This is not in the public interest."

The NHL extended an invitation of its own for members of the #PEI contingent to be at the NHL's suite for the Rangers' home opener.
Asked if he attended the game in the legislature, the premier said "I’ve never set foot in Madison Square Garden in my
life, but it’s on my bucket list."

In fact the province had asked for a list of names from the NHL to invite to the reception. We don't know who all attended the party -- but NHL executives were there and "had a blast."
There were oysters, lobster rolls, potato martinis and gift bags. Music by Alli Walker.

Last week #PEI's premier was asked by the Liberals about "a swanky New York party" the province hosted at the Canadian consulate in NYC last Oct. as a chance "to rub shoulders with their NHL buddies."
The premier responded saying everything Hal Perry said was false & the NHL wasn't there. #peipoli

While we're having fun with FOIPP, here's the response I got from IRAC when I asked for one of the documents Steven Myers now says he intends to make public:

Apparently one of the documents we can't see concluded Maritime Electric's proposed smart meter roll-out is not cost effective, and will cost substantially more per unit that similar rollouts in NS & NB. Would be nice if IRAC could share those details with customers who'll pay for this.

Is it just me or has IRAC gotten a lot more secretive lately?
I've never seen this before -- all supporting documents for Mar Elec smart meter proposal listed as "confidential" -- even a letter of support from government. On what basis is that withheld from the public?

The City of Charlottetown issued this tweet.
There were definitely moments this was not a peaceful protest. There was anger, aggression & at least one outbreak of actual violence.

"After 11 years of silence, we feel heard," Carroll and Casey said in a written statement Thursday.

"We’ve reclaimed our voices. We’re optimistic about using them to continue this conversation."

As #PEI continues to invest tens of millions in electrification, energy production at one of the 2 biggest provincially-owned wind farms has fallen off a cliff.
