It would be so dumb to saddle this team with these prospects to a guy who is almost certainly going to be DJ LeMahieu 2nd in two years. I'd like them to have him next year and maybe 2026, but to saddle the franchise with him for 4 more after that... I'm glad they're more sober than that.

if Soto had taken their offer, they'd have spent the money. I don't think they're wrong to not give the money to the next guy in line just because. Discipline is boring, but if you want what the Dodgers have, it's going to take another year.

apart from that, the supposed cheating they were doing has about a zero percent chance of helping. And when you look at the home/away splits, etc., it just doesn't add up.
