Lots more detail and context in the video itself, so do give it a watch.

And if you work at Rockstar and have more information to share, please do get in touch.

It's worth saying here that these employees, some of whom have been with the company for more than a decade, were escorted out of the building by security guards after being fired.

They weren't allowed to speak to their coworkers. They weren't allowed to collect their belongings from their desks.

It seems likely that Rockstar management gained fuller access to the Discord server during this period, if not beforehand, and will have other messages in its possession.

But so far, this is what we've seen: pay comparisons and a discussion relating to the removal of non-work Slack channels.

Although Take Two & Rockstar have declined to comment, I've spoken once again to the IWGB President to find out what he makes of these messages and to hear an update on the legal actions that his union is currently pursuing.

This does line up with the timing we now know.

These Slack policy changes had been announced during the second week of October and by the end of that month, 34 people had been fired for gross misconduct.

PMG understands Rockstar became aware of these messages after at least one non-union member of the server raised concerns about these discussions with management and this either kicked off, or contributed to, a wider investigation.

As Rockstar employees are typically unable to access work emails outside of the office--and because the Slack policy changes were announced after 5PM--union members still in the office shared text from two internal emails on the Discord, so they could discuss what was happening together.

But we now believe Rockstar used a discussion centered around internal Slack policy changes within the studio as part of its justification to investigate the Discord and its members for breach of contract.
