Measles vaccine (MMR) has been in use since 1963. It is safe and highly effective (2 doses are 97% effective at preventing measles)
Children should receive 2 doses of MMR at 12-15 months and 4-6 years. Babies in outbreak areas and traveling internationally should receive dose 1 starting at 6 months
