A10 #Parkchat I often hike off-trail using Gaia GPS. Google Earth is a great way to find interesting areas and landscapes. You can look for interesting outcrops, peaks, water features or canyons. You can even find prehistoric dwellings if you zoom in enough.

A8 #Parkchat had an amazing encounter with a wolf in Katmai. It came towards me when I spoke softly to it and cocked its head like a dog. It was along the dirt road near the campground overflow area.

A5 #Parkchat Aniakchak National Monument and Preserve in AK. Hard to get to but stunningly beautiful and not too far from Katmai National Park

Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. It is not exactly a Park but is managed by the Park Service. There is much more to it than boating on Lake Powell.
