This is also the current trend in TOEFL too. Generally we are moving towards trying to teach English language as it is learned natively - without grammar and more focus on authentic content.

It's not that surprising. We find out something new every day. She probably knew what passive voice was, but didn't know the metalanguage to describe it. Most English-speaking countries don't teach metalanguage as communicative skill is prioritized over grammar in schools.

neil gaiman's everything getting dropped after his abuses were revealed but rowling still getting deal after deal despite her actions towards attemprs at trans eradication are a sign of Respectability (gaiman did it, rowling is by proxy thru legal means) and perceived low value of trans lives.
