If you ever want to feel the red mist of frustrated rage rising, buy a Canon printer scanner and expect it to work normally. I just spent nearly an hour grappling with one of these shit devices just to scan a simple 5 page A4 document.

Today I’m home again after a week in the US spent watching my oldest son graduate and then we headed to Boston for a few days. The current paranoid state of the US authorities leads them to search the social media of all who apply for a visa so I’ve kept me gob shut on here for a good while.

Just got home from watching Laibach in Southampton. Incredible show. Weird to see them in such a tiny venue considering how huge they are in Eastern Europe.

Despite my punky grungy crusty preferences, I was glued to BBC2 last night for their ABBA night. Such sweet melodies sang and played so well. I doubt we’ll ever see another group with such songwriting and performing brilliance.

I remember hearing it on the radio and that song, along with the older generation tutting at The Who’s destructive behaviour had me hooked. Have been a big fan ever since. Was especially pleased when punk broke and The Who were the old farts it was okay for us punks to like 😁

Having an amazingly tasty late lunch at the amusingly named Cheek & Chong on Orewa’s main beach road. Wow! The flavours are so zingy fresh and delicious I think I might have to ditch all my cooking knowledge and start again at chapter 1 page 1.

Another day another bay. Now at Waiwera in the shade of a lovely tree and looking out over the water. A Māori family are having a picnic nearby and playing some great music as they do. So mellow.
