Something about the Dr. Robotnik fight in Chemical Plant Zone (Sonic 2) scared the shit out of me at like 4 or 5. I remember finally getting over it and reassuring another kid at recess who also feared this boss that the game wasn't scary after that.

I did notice it makes it look very similar to the cart itself, must have been the intent behind it.
