Especially if you remember how great a range of feelings between people could be: betrayal, jealousy, mentoring, worship, neglect, mercy; and every single one of them can be as strong as love... But for some reason love is the king of stories 🤔

To be honest the book has strong And One's 'Men in Uniform' vibes

It's quite obvious how his direction of thought is never about affections, but about subordination to and of others while being so shy and educated. This was quite a read, and T.E. Lawrence seems one of the most interesting people I've read about

It's the author's try at psychoanalyzing himself which often fails or conceals details, and quite surprisingly there is nothing about love which is at last a fresh look at one's priorities

One can mix styles, languages, rhymes with non-rhymes, grammar, punctuation, imitate newspaper, diary, audio transcript, etc. It can have every level of abstraction and realism.
Mere text provides so many ways to arouse emotions, and I haven't even mentioned the art of book covers... 🥵

'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid': the protagonists have such a strong and ambiguous threesome vibe while being PG rated I wouldn't watch it with my parents 💀

'High Plains Drifter': Clint Eastwood destroys an image of a nice gunslinger you had after the Dollars Trilogy so suddenly and cruelly, which of course didn't age well at all, but the arrogance of this decision made this movie so unpredictable. The 'nice gunslinger' was the devil himself 💀

'La Piscine': the protagonist wants his friend and girlfriend to see him as a pervert who seduces a young girl. He acts as if he accidentally gave himself away to make it look natural 💀

They didn't play safe, they were bold and arrogant to tell a story no matter how weird it was. At the same time, it had no shock value — blood, if there was any, was just red paint.
I absolutely love how calm and emotionless their madness was. They were weird 🤌
