Heartbroken to hear about the loss of the Lodge at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. In 2022 we took an epic roadtrip with my mom, including a few nights in the cabins on the North Rim. Each morning mom and I drank coffee on the patio behind the lodge. That’s where this pic was taken.

Just missed getting a pic of the peak of the sunset yesterday. But this is still pretty.

First turns on Pajarito for the season. With La Niña like to mean a warm dry winter we’re taking advantage of the snow while we have it.

Ugh, another fire in the mountains. It’s hopefully far enough away not to threaten us this time, but thinking of the communities in the northern Jemez. It just popped up in the last few hours, but there’s an impressive smoke plume already. This is the obstructed view from our porch.

Maybe not the prettiest foreground (I was waiting in line to sign my kids up for after school gymnastics for the year), but we had a gorgeous rainbow this morning.

For my first post on BlueSky…some blue skies! I love Los Alamos, but I don’t think I’ve found a prettier place in New Mexico than Angel Fire.
