I loved it. I read (and loved) the books years ago. I’m always nervous when books I like are adapted for tv/movies but they nailed this.

I think that's an excellent idea, especially since you've never been to Hawaii before. Similar climate to Raiatea, especially on Maui, so good place to train.

I knew you hadn't lived in humidity for awhile so that's why I mentioned it. Big difference hiking in humid areas vs desert areas. Just want you to be prepared! And if you set your mind to do it, you can! 😀

I spent a day on Raiatea, back in the early 90’s. Didn’t hike, but did go horseback riding in the area around the mountain. Beautiful island and definitely off the beaten path. Also very humid so make sure you add workouts with hot and humid weather!

OMG I love Due South. Haven't watched it in awhile, but now may have to pull out the DVD's (yes, I still have them). My go to is usually MST3K, especially the Joel years.
