I’ve been doing a version of this with my students (thanks for the inspo!) and their projects are incredible. 😭 It’s so cool to see what they come up with.

Love this idea!! I’ve been slowly bringing literary theory into my classroom and it’s been awesome (and intimidating). What does the essay look like? Can they choose a topic?

Students read “Monuments to the Unthinkable” by Clint Smith. They whined about it being 30 pages, but ultimately had the best conversations and really grappled with the nuances. Their final project was a podcast discussing rhetorical choices, and they smashed it!
