This Saturday Nov 1 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm I'll be joining other local authors and signing books at MQ Gifts in Stanwood. It's a great store on the main drag in historic downtown with a huge selection of cool gifts. Definitely worth a pre-holiday browse. Address: 8706 271st St NW, Stanwood WA.

Happy to finally make it back to Maple Pass a few days ago before the snow flew in. That's Black Peak dominating the view. Loved it so much back in the day that I had to climb it three times.

Finally made it back up to Hidden Lake Peak lookout on Thursday. That's the lake with Quien Sabe Glacier below Sahale and Boston Peak the distance. I remember climbing Sahale under the stars once, arriving on the summit at midnight, silly us.

Ephemeral dragon art on the tidal flats at Coupeville. The artist told me her works may disappear with the next tide, but memories last.

Bellingham just opened our new repurposed pedestrian pier, formerly used by a concrete plant. At nearly a quarter mile, it's the longest in the state.

Spotted this unusual pillar on the high bluff above West Beach on Whidbey Island. We enjoyed a great beach walk here during a daytime minus tide.
