I'm not sure if this is good or bad. Won't the prisoners suffer more living out in tents and cages? If the administration is ultimately not allowed to build there, will they bring any fewer people there?

How many progressives have made a bundle on books and commentary? And correct me if I'm wrong, but while I know MSNBC, CNN, and NPR have a few conservatives on for debate, I'm not aware of any hosts who ever go off the reservation. I hope I'm wrong.

And what Bluesky does for many of us. I used to think liberals on average had better critical thinking skills. The attribution in this thread and on this site to conservatives alone of traits common to the whole human race have me questioning that.

The Church didn't agree in 1992. It just got around to officially recanting its 1633 affirmation of what almost everyone believed at the time.

Some of the most religious have questioned carefully and now believe more than ever. Others belong to communities where doubt is acknowledged and not stigmatized. What evidence is there for your two larger claims?

I'm a lifelong Dem but that's bigotry. There are many conservative intellectuals, and if we want to understand that side we need to read them. And we want more educated red staters, the academy needs to be inclusive and quit scaring conservative parents away.

Can we use a little logic, please? I can't stand Vought, but the fact that NIH helped his family obviously does nothing to cast doubt on his contention that their funding is corrupt.

Ah, you're too kind, but I'm a lifelong Democrat. I'm always amused by how many people presume that any criticism of one side demonstrates total dedication to the other. I prefer thinking.

I listen to NPR every day and watch PBS every week, and hate that they're being defunded. But they're National Progressive Radio and the Progressive Broadcasting System, so they have only themselves to blame.

Nobody disputes that he had good reasons and a perfect right to question the Secretary. What's in dispute is whether he moved towards her in a way that alarmed the security guys. I don't just believe the Republicans, but neither have I seen them contradicted by anyone who is actually in there.

A very interesting article, but Trump himself has almost certainly never heard Schmitt's name and even if he's been presented with Schmitt's arguments, without them, he'd be trying the same autocratic stuff.
