It’s an immense amount of effort for the fairly high chance the British would wreck it a couple of years later.

This is the focus of the campaign to stop people buying Swasticars: all his failing ventures are propped by by the Tesla share price.
It needs to be as socially acceptable to own a Swasticar as it is to drink and drive.

Musk got fired as EBay CEO in a boardroom coup, and later did the same to the founders of Tesla. Nice guy.
