That was a twist. Sharon Valerii an evil Cylon?!? This was something thought-through and evolving as the series goes on. She’s saying here they’ll find the humans.

Maybe I’ll find where this amazing series strayed off course.

I come down firmly in the camp that Ronald Moore didn’t have the whole thing plotted out yet. That’s just the nature for television. But this note, and several other things in the miniseries, are well-planted in retrospect.

Did you remember the note mysteriously left in Adama’s quarters?

In the final dialogue between Six and Baltar in the miniseries, he angrily says he's not on anybody's side, human or Cylon. She's thrown for a loop. One so easily handled suddenly has agency, if only for a moment. Then what?

Adama reveal's Earth's existence. "We shall find it, and Earth will become our new home ... "

We learn he's lying through his teeth, for morale. A risk for both the character, but the series. This whole thing could have ended on the lie.

Roslin says "They'll never forgive you."

Nope.

Number 6 is a psychological terror. At one hour and 50 minutes she's everywhere. She is seductive, murderous, utterly manipulative, real, a mental manifestation and seemingly in full control of everything.

Tricia Helfer had been in three episodes of TV and one movie when the miniseries launched.

Swearing in Laura Roslin after the death of the colonial president and the 42 people ahead of her in the line of succession.

Mary McDonnell is so awesome. She went and up and down and back up the emotional register during her swearing in. There's not a moment in the series where she's not worth it.

Aboard Galactica, Commander Adama ponders why was humanity worth saving in the Cylon Wars.

“We still commit murder because of greed, spite, and jealous. And we still visit all of our sins upon our children. And we refuse to accept responsibility for the things that we’ve done.”

Foreshadowing!

Gaius, confronted by Number 6 telling him that SHE is a Cylon says prove it.

“I don’t have to. You know I’m telling the truth.”

“See, stating something as the truth doesn’t necessarily make it so,” Baltar replies.

She tells him why he believes her.

Dupes are always dupes, even the smart ones.

Gaius Baltar coming in at 20 minutes talking about how the ban on artificial intelligence R&D is an outmoded holdover from the Cylon Wars.

Also, one Number 6 (Tricia Helfer) has seen to the destruction of Armistice Station, another killed a child. Aaaaand here it comes. Missiles and glowing spines.

Just as soon as they realize they don’t like money.

Like all platforms, one can get out of it what one puts into it.

And yet.

For just a second, I thought that OTS was a blank space you’d left in the bookshelf and I thought, “Whoever he is, that’s one CLEVER doofus!”
