Just Another Saturday 1975.
Shining a light on sectarianism and contradictions in working class West of Scotland.

Hope they've got washable covers for their sofas in the Cotswolds.

Hope Lammy has washable covers on the sofa...

I love that centrists who called for those on the left to leave the Labour Party and set up their own party, are now raging that they've done exactly that...be careful what you wish for.

I agreed to Art Garfunkel's request to make him an omelette, even though breakfast service was over.

What's leftist populism?
...and more importantly, how do you think pandering to Reform voters will defeat them?
'Island of Strangers' 'Stop the Boats' 'No to the Single Market'
'Make Brexit Work' etc. etc....

Yeah, let's move further to the right to stop the far right. It has never worked anywhere. Learn the lessons from across Europe and beyond.

Yes. Silly you. Who needs a government that implements cuts that affect the poorest and most vulnerable in society, rather than taxing billionaires and corporate tax avoiders.
July 16, 2025 at 8:07 PM
They shouldn't be 'quietly governing'.They shouldn't be 'less shite' than the Tories. They shouldn't be pandering to the City bankers. They shouldn't be cutting Disability Benefits.
They should be making a difference...and they're not.
July 16, 2025 at 8:01 PM
Being less shite than the Tories and Reform isn't exactly aspirational.
July 16, 2025 at 10:21 AM
Not true. That's the politics of the selfish. Most people I know are happy to pay taxes. They expect to see Labour introduce taxes that are just, fair and equitable. They shouldn't shy away from taxing the rich and big corporations. Lift the 2 Child Benefit Cap and stop cutting Disability Benefits.
July 13, 2025 at 1:29 PM
Nah, a fairer voting system to replace FPTP would be better. That's why so many people don't vote, they don't think it makes a difference.

Well done, Zoe. You are the voice of reason being shouted down, not only by right wing apologists, but by the media.
Long may you continue to fight the good fight💪
July 10, 2025 at 7:04 PM
This shouldn't be framed as a choice between children, disabled people and pensioners....how about taxing the rich and corporations...and going after offshore tax avoidance schemes.
July 10, 2025 at 3:57 PM
Yes, this is absolutely abhorrent, it's also been abhorrent every other year when their effigies have been Catholics, but somehow that was framed as traditional and acceptable.
July 9, 2025 at 7:22 PM
Hooray, let's all support the Labour Party 'coz they're less shite than the Tories.
July 6, 2025 at 9:43 PM
How does this square with not abolishing the 2 child benefit cap?
July 6, 2025 at 9:25 PM
If you believe that, I have some magic beans to sell you.

I agree, however in the early days of a new party, he may attract a lot of left leaning people to join.
He was, and never will be a Leader, in my opinion.
I hope a new party will drag the Labour Party back to the left, just as Reform have dragged them to the right.

I'm not a particular Corbyn fan, but people seem to be forgetting that, apart from the media, centrists and right wingers in Labour spent more time undermining him than attacking the Tories. They won't admit it but they seemed happier with a Tory Government than a Corbyn led Government.

Tell that to the Suffragettes, the US Civil Rights Movement, the Anti-Apartheid Movement etc. etc...
