$5 a month doesn't mean a lot to most folks. For independent creators, it's a cumulative force; a trickle that can become the groundswell that carries us all the way to that simple little goal that we all want to achieve:

The ability to exist doing what we love, and what we're good at.

I'm not a huge account by any means, mind. But if even a third of the folks following me on Bluesky alone hit up that $5 tier, that's everything paid.

Everything. Rent, bills, groceries.

Security of existing.

So, here's the salient point:

I've 143 followers on Patreon. Just followers. Now, if even slightly less than half of just those folks joined the $5 tier, that's my electricity and internet bill paid, with some left over for groceries.

Seriously.
