Being tied to this place has only brought the man a great tranquility he knows he would never find moving around to new places. He's already experienced such a tragic reality and wishes to never go back. He gets up soon to leave the store and head up to his apartment before he stops at the back door and looks at Mrs. Akaashi. chapter 4: the date
His nerves almost get the best of him and stop him from doing so, but he decides to stop at a flower shop he lives close to and get a very small and simple handful of flowers. Nothing too showy. He's not sure if Koutarou would even want or like flowers. Is it too much? He has half a mind to throw them into some bushes as he walks across the park towards the sushi shop. "Keiji! Over here!" A familiar voice shouts and he quickly hides the flowers behind his back in embarrassment. Koutarou stands tall in front of the sushi shop, a simple bouquet of flowers gripped in the hand that's not waving him down. Keiji can't hide the blush on his cheeks as he gets closer to his date, his eyes dashing between the flowers and Koutarou's shining eyes.

Kenma freezes at the specific request. “We can even play your favorite!” And then he’s taken back in time. —— “Kyanmaaaa!” He can hear the high pitched voice screeching, likely from down the street. Kenma sits idly in his front yard, knees hugged to his chest and his chin resting gently atop. He doesn’t know how long he’s been sitting out here, but it’s been long enough for his nose to turn a light shade of pink from the rays of the scorching sun. “Kenma?” Tetsurou’s voice is closer now. Kenma hears his footsteps in the grass for a bit until he finally sees worn down volleyball shoes walk up to his own feet. He’s hesitant to look up at first, feeling like he shouldn’t bother this new neighbor kid with his woes. Kenma is sad, afterall. Tetsurou is never sad, so Kenma doesn’t want to make him sad.

"Koutarou, nice to meet you. Keiji and I were already talking actually," Kenma turns her attention to Keiji. "Did you want a turn?" Keiji's eyes grow impossibly wider as she flickers them up to Koutarou in question. Koutarou seems to understand what she is silently asking because strong arms reach forward and scoot Keiji towards Kenma, eliciting a small 'oof' from her. "Pretty eyes," Kenma murmurs before slotting their lips together. It's slow at first, like they're both exploring. Kenma slides her tongue along the entrance to Keiji's mouth and she whimpers in response, immediately opening and allowing their tongues to dance together.
